Three Experimental Poems
Oblivious
Staring at our phones
Oblivious of our surroundings
The night sky is disappearing
Stars no longer exist
Psychologically engulfing
Technology, we cannot resist
Hate Will Never Win
Darkness between the ears
Ignorance lies within
Nature sheds its tears
Hate will never win
Labels divide us
Differences, we fear
Strength unites us
That is clear
Blindness breeds hate
Colors don’t matter
Open eyes will negate
Love will climb the latter
Open arms to embrace
United beyond skin
We are all a part of the human race
Hate will never win
An Anxious Mind
Wandering aimlessly
Struck by beauty
Contemplating tenaciously
Ailed by agony
Enveloped by fear
Questioning reality
Thoughts that won’t disappear
Mental totality
Weakness and strength combined
A path paved to take
Behind the wall we must find
Seemingly impossible to break
Fight or flight, a choice one must make
A decision to determine fate
An anxious mind might break
Fueling constant self-debate
